It was a visual language through which people expressed faith, power, memory, fear, hope, and social identity. In the Middle Ages, many people could not read, so images in churches, manuscripts, sculptures, stained-glass windows, icons, and wall paintings helped them understand religious stories and moral lessons. At the same time, medieval art was not limited to religion. It also appeared in castles, courts, houses, books, jewellery, textiles, weapons, and everyday objects. This article discusses the main features of medieval art, its connection with religion, the role of artists and patrons, the development of Romanesque and Gothic styles, and the place of art in ordinary people’s lives. It shows that medieval art should be seen not as primitive or simple, but as meaningful, symbolic, and deeply connected with the society that created it. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/33THE HELLENISTIC PERIOD: HISTORY, CULTURE, ART, PHILOSOPHY, AND INFLUENCE ON WORLD CIVILIZATION 2026-06-22T21:00:11+05:00Nozimakhon Qakhramon-qizi Tursinboyevanozimatursinboyeva02@gmail.comThe Hellenistic period (4th-1st centuries BC) is a period when, as a result of the campaigns of Alexander the Great, the interaction of Eastern and Western cultures increased and new states with Greek influence were formed. During this period, Greek and local Eastern cultures harmonized, science, literature and architecture developed, especially Alexandria became a scientific center. Hellenistic art is characterized by works of sculpture and fine arts that emphasize realism and dynamism and seek to deeply reflect human emotions. Philosophical movements such as Stoicism, Epicureanism and skepticism were formed, which put forward the ideas of human freedom, moral perfection and harmony with nature. The legacy of Hellenism became the basis for the subsequent intellectual development of Roman culture and the whole of Europe, leaving a deep mark on science and art. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/34ISLAMIC RENAISSANCE IN CENTRAL ASIA: THE ROLE OF THE ARABIC LANGUAGE 2026-06-22T21:00:14+05:00Farangiz Homidovafarangizkhomidova@gmail.comThe Islamic Renaissance in Central Asia (9th-12th centuries) stands out as a golden age of intellectual, scientific, and cultural expansion. This article explores the structural and cultural role of the Arabic language as the universal academic lingua franca that integrated regional scholarship into the global medieval scientific paradigm. While initially introduced through religious consolidation, Arabic evolved into a rigorous medium for astronomy, mathematics, philosophy, medicine, and literature, effectively enabling peer dialogue between distant cultural centers such as Bukhara, Samarkand, Khwarazm, and Baghdad. By reviewing historical patterns of the translation movement, institutionalization of madrasas, and the encyclopedic output of scholars like al-Khwarizmi, Ibn Sina, and al-Biruni, this study highlights how a shared scientific language catalyzed a cognitive revolution that later became foundational for the European Renaissance. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/35MA’MUN ACADEMY (THE EXAMPLE OF IBN SINA) 2026-06-22T21:00:17+05:00Shahzoda Abduxalilovaabduxalilovashahzoda32@gmail.comThe Ma’mun Academy was one of the most important scientific centers in medieval Central Asia. They emerged gradually between the 11th and 13th centuries from cathedral schools, monastic centers, and informal communities of scholars who gathered in cities with strong cultural and economic activity. Over time, these groups organized themselves into structured institutions such as the University of Bologna, the University of Paris, and the University of Oxford, which became the earliest models of higher education in Europe. These universities developed distinct organizational systems, including faculties, degrees, and governance structures often controlled by students or masters. Their curriculum was based on the liberal arts, especially the trivium (grammar, rhetoric, logic) and quadrivium (arithmetic, geometry, music, astronomy), later expanding into law, medicine, and theology. Student life was highly mobile and international, with learners traveling across Europe to study under renowned scholars. Despite strict discipline and religious influence, universities became centers of debate, intellectual exchange, and innovation. Their legacy formed the foundation of modern universities, influencing educational systems, academic freedom, and institutional structures that continue to exist today. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/38SCIENCE AND LEARNING IN THE ERA OF MIRZO ULUG’BEK 2026-06-22T21:00:26+05:00Zebokhon Sotvoldiyevajhamidjonov@gmail.comMirzo Ulug’bek was one of the greatest scholars of the medieval world. He ruled the region of Mawarannahr from Samarkand in the fifteenth century, but he is remembered not as a warrior or a conqueror, but as a scientist and a supporter of learning. Under his rule, Samarkand became one of the most important centres of science in the world. He built madrasas where students could study mathematics, astronomy, geometry, and other subjects. He also built a great observatory where he and his fellow scientists observed the stars and produced one of the most accurate star catalogs of the medieval age. This article examines how Ulug’bek promoted science and education, what he and his scholars achieved, and how his legacy influenced the development of knowledge both in the Islamic world and beyond. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/39THE CULTURE OF THE RENAISSANCE: THE EXAMPLE OF EUROPE 2026-06-22T21:00:30+05:00Nozimakhon Sirojdinovanozimasirojdinova@gmail.comThis article examines the cultural development of the Renaissance in Europe, focusing on its origins, major characteristics, artistic achievements, literary contributions, scientific discoveries, and long-term influence. By analyzing the socio-political and cultural context of the Timurid Renaissance, the study highlights how Navoiy's legacy shaped national identity, education, and literary traditions in Central Asia. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/41UTOPIA AND DYSTOPIA IN THE MODERN WORLD: CHALLENGES, TECHNOLOGY, AND HUMANITY 2026-06-22T21:01:35+05:00Nabixon AbdullayevaThe concepts of utopia and dystopia have long served as mirrors for human hopes and anxieties about the future. In the modern world, these literary and philosophical ideas are no longer confined to books; they are becoming part of our daily reality. On one hand, rapid technological advancements, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence offer a utopian promise of a world free from disease, labor, and scarcity. On the other hand, issues like mass surveillance, climate crises, social media addiction, and algorithmic control echo the darkest dystopian warnings of the 20th-century literature. This article examines how utopian dreams and dystopian realities coexist in contemporary society, analyzing the role of technology, politics, and globalization in shaping our modern existence. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/42THE CHURCH IN THE MIDDLE AGES AND ITS INFLUENCE ON PEOPLE’S LIVES 2026-06-22T21:01:37+05:00Dilobar Yunusovadilobaryunusova08@gmail.comThe Church stood at the centre of medieval European life. It was a place of worship, but it was also a school, a court, a landowner, a helper of the poor, and a powerful voice in politics. For many ordinary people, the Church explained the meaning of birth, marriage, illness, death, sin, and salvation. It gave hope in a world where war, hunger, disease, and insecurity were common. At the same time, the Church did not only comfort people; it also directed their behaviour, collected taxes, influenced rulers, and punished those who openly rejected its teaching. This article examines the main ways in which the medieval Church shaped people’s daily life, including religion, education, family, charity, art, politics, and social control. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/43THE ROLE OF MIND MAPPING IN PROMOTING READING COMPREHENSION 2026-06-22T21:01:40+05:00Zilola Abduraxim-qizi To’xtasinovaZebo BotirovaThis article explores the role of mind mapping in promoting reading comprehension among learners. These measures, borrowed almost wholesale from commercial web analytics, offer the seductive appeal of objectivity, ease of collection, and cross-institutional comparability. Yet a growing body of evidence suggests that these metrics systematically misrepresent the genuine value that digital libraries deliver to their diverse constituencies. A high number of downloads may indicate nothing more than a required course reading, while a brief session might reflect a highly efficient expert who has found precisely the needed resource within seconds. Conversely, a long session could signify frustration, poor search usability, or inadequate metadata rather than deep engagement. This article argues for a fundamental reorientation of digital library assessment toward a multidimensional framework that encompasses cognitive impact, affective experience, social utility, and long-term scholarly trajectories. By integrating qualitative methods, ethnographic observation, and user-centered design principles with traditional usage statistics, librarians and information scientists can construct a far more truthful and actionable narrative of digital library success. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/52THE ACCESSIBILITY GAP IN DIGITAL LIBRARY PLATFORMS FOR PRINT-DISABLED USERS 2026-06-22T21:02:25+05:00Diyora XushvaqtovaThe digitization of library collections has been heralded as a great equalizer, promising to democratize access to the world's recorded knowledge for readers regardless of physical location or institutional affiliation. Yet for millions of print-disabled users, including those with visual impairments, dyslexia, motor disabilities, and other conditions that affect the ability to read standard printed materials, this promise remains substantially unfulfilled. Despite significant advances in assistive technologies and growing legal mandates for digital accessibility, the platforms that deliver digital library content continue to present formidable barriers that range from the merely inconvenient to the completely insurmountable. These barriers are not random or incidental; they are systematic, reflecting a deep-seated design culture that treats accessibility as an afterthought rather than a fundamental requirement. This article examines the nature and scope of the accessibility gap in contemporary digital library platforms, tracing its roots in procurement practices, technical architectures, and organizational priorities. It argues that bridging this gap requires not merely technical fixes, but a fundamental reconceptualization of the digital library as a universal design environment, one that assumes diverse bodies, minds, and reading practices from the very first line of code. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/53DIGITAL LIBRARY FATIGUE AND ITS EFFECT ON UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH PERSISTENCE 2026-06-22T21:02:27+05:00Gullola NuriddinovaThe undergraduate research experience has been fundamentally transformed by the proliferation of digital library resources, which offer unprecedented access to scholarly literature, primary sources, and data. Yet this abundance carries an unanticipated cost. A growing body of evidence suggests that many undergraduate students experience a phenomenon that can be characterized as digital library fatigue, a state of cognitive overload, decision paralysis, and emotional exhaustion that arises from the sheer scale, complexity, and fragmentation of the digital information environment. This fatigue is not merely a subjective discomfort but has measurable consequences for research persistence, the sustained engagement with library resources necessary for deep inquiry and intellectual growth. Students afflicted by digital library fatigue are more likely to abandon complex searches, settle for superficial or low-quality sources, avoid library platforms altogether, and disengage from research assignments that require sustained bibliographic exploration. This article examines the origins and manifestations of digital library fatigue among undergraduates, drawing upon cognitive psychology, information behavior research, and educational theory to explain why this phenomenon is particularly acute for novice researchers. It argues that mitigating digital library fatigue requires not only improved interface design and discovery tools but also a pedagogical reorientation that emphasizes process over product, curiosity over compliance, and resilience over efficiency. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/54DEMOGRAPHIC PROCESSES IN CENTRAL ASIA AND THEIR IMPACT ON REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT 2026-06-22T21:02:29+05:00Lobar KhushnazarovaThis article analyzes contemporary demographic processes in the countries of Central Asia, including population growth trends, urbanization, migration, age structure, and the impact of demographic changes on the socio-economic development of the region. Cherished as repositories of unique cultural heritage, rare manuscripts, archival records, and distinctive local materials, they are simultaneously perceived as costly to maintain, difficult to discover, and underutilized by all but the most dedicated specialists. The digitization of these collections promised to alleviate their obscurity, yet too often digitization has merely produced high-resolution images that replicate the physical artifact without unlocking its intellectual content. This article argues that the true potential of special collections lies not in digital surrogacy but in their transformation into actionable, interconnected data through the application of linked open data principles. By exposing the semantic structures embedded within special collections, libraries can repurpose these materials for novel forms of research, teaching, and public engagement that transcend the boundaries of traditional collection use. The article examines the technical, conceptual, and organizational dimensions of this repurposing, drawing upon emerging practices and pilot projects to illustrate both the transformative possibilities and the substantial challenges that libraries must confront. 2026-06-22T00:00:00+05:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://altumconference.com/index.php/altum/article/view/56THE ROLE OF PEOPLE’S PEDAGOGY IN PRESERVING NATIONAL VALUES IN THE CONDITIONS OF GLOBALISATION 2026-06-22T21:02:33+05:00Dilshodbek Yuldashali-oglu AbdullayevRuhshona Sherzod-kizi AbdurahimovaThis article scientifically analyzes the role and importance of folk pedagogy in preserving national values and transmitting them from generation to generation in the context of globalization.
